OMONA!
My jounal is now pretty much f-locked, so I thought I should add this, seeing as it's weird to see new comments on old journal entries.  I've f-locked most of my entries because I give my username to people I know in real life that I'd rather not know everything about me :

OMONA!
A girl at my church died last monday and I went to her funeral/home going today. It was kinda sad and surreal. I've known her since she was around 11? She was 21, crazy no? I was able to keep myself all week because I didn't think about it but it hit me when I went to the church. I really broke down when my pastor prayed after the opening (which was kinda cool because he was doing the opening while the mass choir sang) And when her boyfriend got up and talked but I was worried because he was like "I'll be seeing you soon" Also, I agree with the youth pastor at my church (who gave the message) who was like I'm sure some of you are wondering what is going on. lulz

Also, how do most funerals go? Like all the ones i have been to besides my aunt were homegoing services and kinda happy. The mother was so at peace.

I have an exam tommorow ;A; need to study but I've become so distracted by 'The Godhead" specifcally dynamic monarchianism and modalistic monarchianism.  It's kinda making my head swim. The Trinity is hard to understand anyway but I didn't know about the other ways about looking at it especially Oneness Pentacostalism. (this is all brought on by an awesome song) I'm going to talk to my religion professor tomorrow. I really want to go to seminary school >A<

wonder if anyone on my flist subscribes to modalistic monarchianism or maybe even Oneness Pentacostalism? I don't think I know anyone that does. :/

now back to loads of work >A< My head hurts so bad I'm thinking to hard

OMONA!
I used to always imagine meeting Chris Brown at the mall because I am a giant dork, and even though I'm not a big fan i know he goes to them. but anyway

Chris Brown was at the mall today, but he wasn't taking pics D: Though I'm guessing alot of people wouldn't be excited anymore. (I know I would have been way more excited had this happened in January) Sadly I wasn't there but my brother's gf (Holly) talked to him though. I'll have to ask what he she said. I know her and my twin used to be big fans but not as much anymore. (They both want maximum jail time) I wonder what I'd say to him if I did meet him. Probably what is there to say? Anyway I don't hate him... everyone makes mistakes. His are just worse than others and well there are consequences for our actions.

INTERESTING STUFFS (well to me at least)

OMONA!

I found out that two of the countries that (I'm pretty sure) I want to do mission work in are some of the most dangerous countries in the world for missionaries. Of course those are the countries I want to work in XD;; But I kinda figured that when I read this a couple months ago on wikipedia.

SOMALIA #1
" Christianity 's influence was significantly reduced in the 1970s when church-run schools were closed and missonaries sent home...The Somali constitution discourages the promotion and propagation of any religion other than Islam."
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Somalia

THE SUDAN #3
I'm pretty sure that everyone knows this country isn't paradise either.

HAITI
This didn't make the list but apperently it is one of the most dangerous countries in the world? (*isn't convinced but that's just me) Anyway I'm pretty sure I'll be doing some work here in the next couple of years. Seeing as my church does mission work here and they're much closer than Africa.

anyway I am terrified for/of child soldiers. They make me cry so much ;_______;  I'm pretty sure I'm going to write an essay on them this semester. Oh one of my goals is to write an essay a week this year >')

ATLA will forever be my main love. It was first love(fandom) and it will always beat out bleach and anything else. I even love it more than Spirited Away. You heard me more than Miyazaki.

Thanks [info]rachelthedemon for I wouldn't have known. So NYCC was that awesome. I missed loli fashion show and Mike and Bryan. VA currently sucks D:

Oh XD

Stephen E. Ambrose explaining how Japanese teach WWII.
"The Japanese presentation of the war to its children runs something like this; one day for no reason we ever understood the americans started dropping atomic bombs on us"

Bwahaha Bwahaha Bwahaha Bwahaha

This is probably not as amusing as I think it is shut up >P

(Honestly I think Japan has a problem with their history and it's not just the bitter sentiments of growing up around Koreans running through me. Saudi does the same thing too, correct?)

OMONA!
A f riend of mine died. He was hit by a train.

I found out last night and his gf texted me and told me his funeral was today.

It's sorta surreal, one day they're here and then the next they aren't. He no longer exists in our world, It's really hard for me to comprehend.

NEKOCON REPORT - My first anime convention

  • Nov. 6th, 2007 at 8:54 PM
OMONA!
Hmm, this was my first con experience ever and let me tel you I have been looking forward to going to Nekocon for 2 years. So you can not imagine how excited I was to go. Unfortunately, the convention didn't live up to my expectations. Alot of the time, I was just standing (or sitting) around bored. Though, there is the possibility that could all be attributed to me. I am a pretty shy person and I'm not outgoing in the slightest, so my brother decided to go with me. Which was really nice but I wonder if that took the force off of myself to talk to other people. Anyway, he doesn't really have an interest in anime so he stood around and talked on the phone for the most part. I was also, extremely tired during the weekend (I had only had a full nights sleep the sunday before) so that might be another factor in why I didn't have the best time.

Breakdown: (stolen format from Mishikotoko)

Registration/Pre-registration:
Well, I did both Pre-register and registered on friday.
Thursday - Pre-reg: It took about me about 2 minute and I was done.
Friday - I wasn't completly sure how to register so the lady pointed me to the computers, so I waited in line but turns out it was the wrong one, and then we got his paper filled out. So we got back in line but the lady told my brother to get behind Inuyasha. As he was a person who doesn't watch anime he was very confused. Anyway that took about 20 minutes could have been faster if the directions were clearer.

7/10

Panels
I didn't go to any panels . I really did want to go to the Lolita, BJD, and Fruits Basket panels but I slept through them. So unless you count watching Yugioh Abridged I can't rate this.

Game room:
I was only in here for about 20 minutes and I didn't play anything, but I did like watching the people play ddr and the para para machine. We wanted to play ddr (and by me I mean my brother) but the pad didn't seem to be working so we walked around, and on the otherside of the gameroom (the entrance side) it smelled pretty bad, but not as bad as I expected. But it did stop me from playing a game.
But, the sign about febreezing people made us laugh. so...
7/10

Cosplay:
I only saw a bit of it because we were at the end of the line and then I had to leave at 7:15. But what I could see was pretty cool. I enjoyed most of the skits I saw and the cosplay that won the awards was great as far as I could tell.
8/10

Artist Alley:
Artist Alley was really nice, I enjoyed looking at all the diffrent artist's work. I really wished I had purchashed more or commisioned something. ;o;
9/10

Dealers room:
The dealers room was were I spent the most of my time (I think) I really enjoyed it, I got some manga and spent half my money in kawaii gifts. Got to see giant posters of Mana Laughing I could have spent so much more money there.
Also, Lady Heather, the women at Kawaii Gifts and the people at the place selling Lolita clothes (and Mana & HYDE(?)*don't kill me jrock fans* posters and doujin XD) were really friendly. I enjoyed chatting with them.

10/10

Dance:
Friday:
I found the dance incredibly boring. This isn't the type of dance/party I was used to but I thought I paid for my ticket let's check it out. (Not that I'm out partying but brother does so) I don't know it just didn't seem hype enough. I felt bad because my bro loves to party and he was bored out of his skull. I dunno I like seeing people dance and though some could, alot could not. Maybe if I had glosticks I'd have more fun.
dj was fine though.
6/10

Staff:
I had no problem what so ever with the staff, they seemed to be helpful enough. Only the reg confused me.
8/10

Attendee's:
Of the ateendee's I talked to, most were cordial. I didn't really get to talk to many people (and that was probably what I was looking forward to most.) The person at the convention that I enjoyed talking to wasn't actually at the con. On friday night we talked to the girl at the ydoyouthink table, chatted for about 15 minutes and she asked about anime and she told us about the ydoyouthink capaign. She was pretty cool.
I did find out 2 of my friends from work liked anime, so that was cool

- I only had a problem with the one person (okay a few but this person specifically) he was really creepy and we were stuck sitting next to him during the cosplay event and he smelled so bad TToTT he made us feel sick.
6/10

Photoshoots:
Only went to the Bleach photoshoot, missed the others. I don't know if some of the times changed but the people weren't there :/
But the Bleach shoot on Friday was cool. :3
7/10

7.5/10 - While a passing grade is nothing extroidanary.
_______________________________________________________________
It was an interesting experience but I don't think it was worth the $80 I spent on the tickets. Seeing as the things I enjoyed the most, looking at cosplay, watching Yugioh abridged and buying manga and stationary could be done online. :/

But I'll be back next year (probably) hopefully I'll have a better time.

(So I don't sound mean or just so dismal I do think that you get out of it what you put in and I probably could had more fun.)
_______________________________________________________________
Some other things
- I think it would have been better if there were maps of the convention center out on friday. (If there were I didn't see them.)

Also, the highlight of the con for both my brother and me was Yugioh Abridged we were both laughing so hard, it was really great.
